We are so excited to welcome two new teachers to our team this year!
Erin Sullivan
Erin Sullivan is a trombonist from St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. She holds a Bachelor of Music Degree (Honours) in Performance from Memorial University of Newfoundland. During her time at MUN, Erin was very active in the music community. She had the privilege of playing Second Trombone with the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra and singing with Lady Cove Women’s Choir, as well as numerous solo performances and playing with MUN ensembles. In 2019, Erin was one of two winners of the MUN Concerto Competition and in April 2022, she performed Colors for Trombone with the MUN Wind Ensemble under the direction of Bill Brennan. Erin has just completed a Master of Music Degree in Performance at Université de Montréal. There, she studied with Patrice Richer and was very active in the music faculty. She was a member of the Orchestra, Brass Ensemble, Big Band and Contemporary Ensemble and had many other performances including Stravinsky’s L’Histoire du Soldat and the premiere of Modam (uninterrupted) for solo trombone (2021) by Showan Tavakol. Erin is very excited to get back to the music scene in St. John’s and to start teaching at Dynamic Sounds Music Studio in September.
Rebecca Hender
Rebecca Hender graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor of Music degree from Memorial University’s School of Music. She has received multiple placings and awards in both piano and vocal classes at the Kiwanis Music Festival and has been involved in several performances as both a soloist and accompanist. Rebecca has been teaching private piano and voice lessons since 2013, instructing students of varying ages and levels, and has successfully prepared students for performances, competitions, and conservatory examinations. Rebecca remains active in the choral community as a member of both Ladycove Women's Choir and Aurora Women’s Choir. Rebecca is also an avid baker and has been baking pies every Wednesday for High and Lonesome’s bluegrass show and pie raffle. Rebecca is very excited to be joining Dynamic Sounds in September.
